Designed for use with crude sewage this unique method of effectively dividing flows, by eliminating obstructions around weirs, has been developed by Tuke and Bell in conjunction with Severn Trent Water and Pick Everard Consulting Engineers.
Several systems have been installed throughout the region and are operating successfully. The units range from 2 way up to a 5 way split and can be installed above or below ground, to cater with pumped or gravity flows.
Although Kleensweep is used principally for multiple RBC systems (Rotating Biological Contactors) there are many applications on sewage treatment works, where sewage flows have to be divided to obtain the required process regime. Retrofitting on existing works is simple and the plants are easy to install.
Flow enters the unit either by gravity or pumping. A motorised cleaning device ensures that the flow passes forward over adjustable weirs and into the various outlet pipes and forward to the next stage of treatment. Control is by adjustable timer, which can be infinitely variable. Maintenance is minimal.
Chamber: GRP Reinforced construction with steel flooring and open mesh removable access cover.
Drive Mechanism: Single beam scraper assembly driven by 0.12kW Geared Motor. IP67 rated.
Control Panel: Unit mounted, constructed in double door stainless steel and IP65 rated.
